Cool Space Bandages

Cool Space Bandages

The latest addition to the Stretch & Flex® range is the exercise bandage, designed with great thought and awareness for the need of a convenient, breathable bandage. A lot of the time was put into experimenting with scientific new materials, looking for the ideal combination of properties to make a bandage of exceptional quality.

3D materials where found to provide many important qualities due to their structure. The knitted structure is joined together by yarns of known rigidity to provide a well defined and pressure tolerant inter-space between the two knitted layers. Due to this inter-space between the layers spacer fabric proves to be a porous material with high air permeability. Such space fabrics are frequently attached to a firm or preformed material to reduce air permeability, unlike the bandages where an open weave material is used to promote the circulation of air through the bandage. This reduces the build up of heat, pulling moisture off the skin and dispersing it into the air. The outside of the bandage is made from an open weave fabric, allowing the material to move with the horses' movement, stretching and moving in various directions. 50% of one is then lined with the cool space liner. This provides extra cushioning and protection without being to bulky. This modern material also draws heat away from the skin as it heats up. The result is the leg being kept at a lower temperature. This combination if materials work extremely well next to each other, proving to have super results. The cool space acts as cushioning protection, with the added bonus of wicking away heat. The outer weave material is elasticised so is able to support the leg adequately whilst having an open weave it enables heat to escape through the layers of the bandage.
