Introduction

The Stretch & Flex® brand optimises quality and only the best will do. The aim of this collection of supportive leg wear is to 'free your horses' natural paces' and throughout the design this has to be thought about carefully.

Stretch & Flex® began with us recognising a need for protection of the horses' legs in a particular situation. The idea may come either from within the Equilibrium team, based on their own experience or feedback from a leading rider from across the disciplines that support's us in our quest to develop great equine boots.

Once a concept has been identified, we set out to identify possible combinations of materials. When we have a good idea of the materials and fabrics available, we can construct a prototype boot. These are often based on a mould taken of a horse's leg, so we can be sure the final product will fits well, especially if it is a close-contact wrap. The prototypes are then used by our panel of riders, under controlled conditions. Their feedback is essential in refining the design. We may prototype repeatedly until we and the riders are happy with the design. Finally a set of technical drawings are created of the end product. These are used in field trails and lab tests, validating the boots overall performance.

Any final amendments are made to the drawings and the product is produced. However this is not the end, we are always interested in feedback either to confirm our design or to refine it further.

The result is supportive leg protection which does not restrict, but allows the horse to feel free in his/her movement. Whilst offering the greatest levels of comfort and active breath ability.
