The importance of dressage

Correct training on the flat is essential for any horse to be a useful and enjoyable ride. Whether you aim to compete in dressage, or want to showjump or event successfully, or are content to have a well-mannered hack who is a pleasure to ride, then dressage training is important to you. Dressage as we know it today has its origins in the training of cavalry horses, which had to be obedient on the parade ground and manoeuvrable on the battlefield.

Today, it is the fastest-growing Olympic equestrian discipline, and is governed in Great Britain by British Dressage.
